Family Sports Festival 2024: Strengthening the Relationship among Parents, Teachers and Children

Kalam Khalifah held the 2024 Family Sports Festival at Taman Tengku Anis attended by parents and children from all 10 Little Caliphs kindergartens and Kalam Integrated School of Excellence. In total, this grand event had close to 2500 visitors throughout the day!

Building Lasting Relationships:

The Festival was filled with scenes of parents and children laughing together as they completed all the checkpoints organized by our kindergarten and school teachers. Some of the children also brought along their siblings and extended family members. It was apparent on their faces that this day would be a well-cherished memory between them. Other than that, teachers also closely took part in cheering on and helping the children complete some of the more difficult challenges, thus strengthening the trust between them and the parents.

Nourishing Self-Confidence:

All children were also given the opportunity to shine as they performed on the big stage. They sang and danced to catchy tunes while their parents enthusiastically watched and recorded their performances. Mrs Nadia, a parent of a student from Little Caliphs Jelawat, shared that she could see that her child enjoyed performing with friends. Although some children were shy, it was very much praise-worthy that they got up on that stage and performed until the end. 

Encouraging Good Sportsmanship and Love for Physical Exercises:

The checkpoint games were designed for the children and parents to exert some energy to encourage their love for a healthy lifestyle. Running, hopping, throwing a ball and many more were simple body movements that helped develop their motor skills. Furthermore, winning and losing are parts of a competition, but both should be celebrated, and we were proud to see the children showing off the medals and trophies that they won.

Collaboration with external parties:

The Festival was made livelier with the participation of 12 sponsors and 12 vendors who opened their booths during the event. Families were having picnics all around the field of Taman Tengku Anis after buying some delicious food and visiting other booths in between games and performances. A handful of them were also winners of the various lucky draw prizes provided by our sponsors such as Bank Rakyat, Klinik Nawra, Raja Perfume and Farm Fresh.

Family Sports Festival 2024 was a massive success! Therefore, we would like to extend our thanks to all the children, parents, teachers, sponsors, vendors and all collaborators for making it a day to remember. We wish to see everyone again next year.
